Who is responsible
Held Holdings Ltd operates UGC Unplugged and is responsible for the personal information used to run this website and community. Contact privacy@ugcunplugged.com for privacy questions and requests.
What we receive and store
When you sign in with ChatGPT, the hosting platform supplies our server with a site-specific account identifier, your account email address and, where available, your name. We use the identifier to recognise your community account. We do not display your sign-in email to other members and store it only when you opt in to the Sunday newsletter.
The community database stores your chosen display name, optional bio, posts, replies, creation timestamps, moderation status and the versions and date of terms acceptance and privacy-notice acknowledgement. Signing in alone does not create a community profile: you complete that step yourself.
The hosting and authentication providers also process technical information needed to deliver and secure requests, such as network and sign-in information, under their relevant policies. If you contact the privacy address, the email service processes your message and contact details.
Why we use information
We use account and contribution information to provide the community you request and administer its terms. We use moderation and security information to protect the community and address misuse. These purposes rely on providing the service and our legitimate interests in maintaining a useful, secure community. Applicable legal obligations may also require us to retain or disclose particular records.
Terms acceptance is not blanket consent to unrelated processing. Acknowledging this notice confirms that it was presented to you; it is not consent to marketing.
What other members can see
Signed-in members with a community profile can see your display name, posts, replies and their dates. The current interface does not publish an email address or member bio directory. Moderators have access to information needed to manage discussions and member access. Do not put confidential, sensitive or third-party personal information into contributions.
Service providers and external links
The site is hosted through OpenAI Sites, with Cloudflare infrastructure and database services. ChatGPT sign-in is handled by the hosting authentication service. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives a request from your browser. Essential authentication and hosting technologies support sign-in and security; we have not installed advertising or analytics trackers in the site’s own code.
Information handled by infrastructure providers may be processed outside the UK. Their processing locations, safeguards and retention arrangements depend on the services used. Contact us for information about the arrangements applicable to this site.
Opening a link to a video host or another service takes you to that service, which handles information under its own policy. We do not transfer your community profile to Hook & Hold automatically.
Newsletter
The optional Sunday newsletter checkbox is unticked by default. If you opt in, we store your sign-in email, preference and the time of your choice so we can email you the UGC Unplugged Sunday newsletter when it launches. This is based on your consent. Community membership does not sign you up. Resend is the intended email provider but is not yet connected, so no newsletter emails are currently sent. Withdraw your choice by unticking the box in Edit profile and saving; this removes the stored newsletter email. You can also contact privacy@ugcunplugged.com. Newsletter emails will include an unsubscribe link.
Retention and deletion
Community records currently remain until removed as part of account administration or following a verified deletion request; there is no automatic inactivity expiry in this release. Hidden posts and suspended accounts are not automatically deleted. We retain information only where needed to operate the service, review moderation or address a legal obligation, and assess deletion requests individually.
Use the privacy contact to request removal of your profile or contributions. We may need to verify that the request is yours. Some provider logs or backups may follow a separate retention cycle; contact us if you need details. Publicly shared copies or material copied by other members are outside our direct control.
Your choices and rights
You can change your display name and optional bio from your profile, and edit your own visible posts and replies. Depending on the circumstances, data-protection rights include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection and portability. Contact us to exercise a right or ask how your information is used.
You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Updates
We will update this notice when the service or its data handling changes. Members will be shown the current version when the acknowledgement step is updated.
