Start with a real routine

Think about something you use often: making breakfast, packing a walking bag, looking after a plant or keeping your desk organised. Familiar routines give you specific details to talk about.

Choose a product you own rather than buying something just to make a video. The aim is to practise explaining and showing.

Find one useful question

Ask what someone would want to know before using the product. How do you open it? What size is it? Where does it fit? How does one feature work? A concrete question gives the video a purpose.

Keep the answer small enough to demonstrate. Trying to explain every feature at once can make a first video harder to follow.

Show the answer

Write down three shots: a clear view of the product, the action that answers your question and a close-up of the useful detail. Film each separately so you can try different framing.

Your explanation can be a voiceover, a direct-to-camera introduction or a short caption. Choose the format that makes the demonstration clear.

Keep claims honest

Describe what you can show and your own experience. Avoid turning personal observations into promises about what everyone will experience.

Label this as sample content in your portfolio. A practice video does not mean the brand has hired or endorsed you.

Try this next

Pick one everyday product. Write down a question about it and plan three shots that answer that question.
